ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has announced the appointment of Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), (Retired), as the inaugural Secretary General under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (MJDA). This appointment marks a significant development in the defense collaboration outlined in the agreement.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lieutenant General Mahmood will head the General Secretariat of the Alliance, which is being established in Riyadh. The role of the Secretary General is a pivotal element of the MJDA, designed to foster greater defense cooperation among the participating nations.
