Pakistan Applauds UN Security Council Resolution for Ceasefire in Gaza

Islamabad, Pakistan has expressed its approval of the United Nations Security Council’s resolution that calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. This resolution also includes demands for the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid and the removal of impediments to the provision of such assistance.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s support for the resolution’s emphasis on facilitating humanitarian assistance to Gaza and lifting all barriers preventing aid delivery. Baloch urged for the swift enactment of the resolution and expressed hope that it would mark the beginning of the end of Israel’s severe military actions, aiming for a lasting ceasefire.

Furthermore, Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar has echoed this sentiment, praising the United Nations Security Council’s resolution for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza. Via a post on X, Dar called for the urgent implementation of the resolution and conveyed his hopes for the Palestinian people to experience the much-needed relief after enduring months of conflict and the tragic loss of over 30,000 innocent lives.

The unanimous welcome of the Security Council’s resolution by Pakistan’s officials underscores the country’s stance on the importance of peace and stability in Gaza, especially during the significant period of Ramadan. It reflects Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to international efforts aimed at resolving the conflict and ensuring the well-being of the Palestinian population.
