Islamabad: Pakistan has announced a temporary pause in its military initiative, “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq,” against terrorist groups and their support systems in Afghanistan. The decision was communicated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar through a post on the social media platform X.
According to Radio Pakistan, the pause in the operation will coincide with the Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Fitr and was requested by the Islamic nations of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkiye. The suspension will take effect from the midnight of March 18-19, 2026, and will last until the midnight of March 23-24, 2026. The Minister noted that this decision is a gesture of goodwill in alignment with Islamic traditions. He also warned that any cross-border aggression, drone strikes, or terrorist incidents within Pakistan would prompt an immediate and intensified resumption of the operation.
