KARACHI: Pakistan and Vietnam have agreed to enhance their collaboration in the Halal seafood sector, marking a significant development in trade relations between the two nations.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in Karachi, where the Ambassador of Vietnam to Pakistan, Pham Anh Tuan, met with representatives from the Pakistan Fisheries Exporters Association and the Director General of the Marine Fisheries Department, Dr. Mansoor Ali Wassan.
In the meeting, Dr. Wassan shared that Pakistan’s seafood exports to Vietnam grew to 9 million dollars in 2024, reflecting a 20 percent increase from the previous year. This growth highlights the potential for further trade expansion between the countries.
The discussions underscored the mutual benefits of strengthening ties in the Halal seafood market, an industry of growing importance in both Pakistan and Vietnam.
The initiative is seen as a strategic move to boost economic ties and capitalize on the increasing demand for Halal-certified seafood products.
