Islamabad: Pakistan and Venezuela have pledged to enhance their bilateral cooperation, focusing on economic collaboration and stronger people-to-people contacts. This commitment was made during a telephonic conversation between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Venezuela’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries and their shared commitment to further strengthening these ties. The ministers discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, business, agriculture, and information technology.

The conversation also touched upon the continued coordination between Pakistan and Venezuela at multilateral forums on issues of common interest. Ishaq Dar extended his congratulations to Minister Plasencia on his new role and expressed condolences over the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Venezuelan government and its people, expressing confidence in their resilience and recovery.

In response, Minister Plasencia thanked Dar for Pakistan’s support and solidarity, emphasizing the importance of mutual support during challenging times. He acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation in regional situations involving the United States and Iran, commending its commitment to peace and diplomacy. The ministers agreed to maintain close contact and meet at an appropriate time.
