Tashkent, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan have reiterated their determination to swiftly finalize the Strategic Partnership Agreement to foster regional economic integration. During a bilateral meeting in Tashkent, they also discussed their active roles in regional connectivity projects, such as the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting conveyed that the leaders reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation including politics, trade, economy, security, defense, and connectivity. Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the need to maintain the progress achieved, highlighting the recent activation of the Preferential Trade Agreement and the Transit Trade Agreement as catalysts for enhancing bilateral and transit trade. Additionally, the leaders addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and other international issues. The meeting coincided with the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
