Pakistan and US Set Sights on Bolstering Economic Ties

Islamabad, Pakistan and the United States have mutually decided to strengthen their economic relationship by collaborating more deeply on diverse bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Industries and Production, the commitment was finalized in a virtual discussion between the Minister for Commerce, Industries and Production, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, and the United States’ Trade Representative, Katherine Tai. During this digital rendezvous, both officials examined the strides taken since the conclusion of the 9th Pakistan-United States Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council meeting, which was held earlier in the year.

Highlighting Pakistan’s endeavors, Dr. Ejaz apprised the US representative about the substantial measures adopted by the Pakistani government to elevate the business environment within the nation. Furthering the discussion on trade potentialities, the Commerce Minister proposed the possibility of granting duty-free status to Pakistani textile and garment exports to the United States. Additionally, he emphasized the opportunity to foster joint ventures in areas of textile and industrial manufacturing.

The dialogue signifies a step forward in the bilateral relationship, emphasizing economic growth and mutual benefit for both nations.
