London: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to bolster collaboration in the education sector, with a focus on fostering advancements in Materials Science and Emerging Technologies. This development was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad and the University of Cambridge in the UK.
The partnership is designed to enhance Pakistan’s research capabilities, promote academic excellence, and boost international collaboration in scientific disciplines. The agreement was signed during a ceremony in London, alongside another MoU between Cambridge Enterprise Ltd. UK and the Pakistan Institute for Development Economics in Islamabad.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who was present at the ceremony, described the partnerships as a significant stride towards developing Pakistan’s knowledge economy. He emphasized that these collaborations will facilitate connections between Pakistani universities and international accelerators, venture funds, and technology partners.
The initiative underscores a commitment to strengthening educational and research ties between the two nations, aiming to yield long-term benefits for scientific communities in both countries.
