Karachi: Under the auspices of Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) and the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering cooperation and enhancing business relations between Pakistan and Uganda.
According to Employers’ Federation of Pakistan, the signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the FoodAG exhibition, marking a significant step toward collaboration, advocacy, and lobbying between the two organizations. Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan emphasized the importance of such partnerships in expanding business ties and promoting Pakistani exports across Africa, particularly urging Ugandan partners to help increase Pakistan’s market presence in their region.
The event saw prominent figures like Syed Nazar Ali, Secretary General of EFP, and Douglas Opio, Executive Director of FUE, signing the memorandum. Notable attendees included Chief Executive of TDAP, Zubair Motiwala, who presided over the ceremony, and Majyd Aziz, former President of EFP, among others. Motiwala highlighted the anticipated growth in Pakistani agricultural exports, which are expected to surpass $10 billion by June 2026, reflecting the country’s advancing agro-economic stature.
The ceremony not only highlighted the mutual interests of both nations in strengthening economic ties but also demonstrated Pakistan’s readiness to host and engage with international business communities to further global partnerships.
