Pakistan and UAE Forge Alliance for Digital Governance Cooperation

Abu Dhabi: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to enhance collaboration in digital governance, focusing on knowledge and technology exchange in the public sector. This development emerged from a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, and Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al-Kebbi, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement.

The discussions centered on leveraging artificial intelligence and digital technologies to modernize governance and improve public services. Both nations aim to promote sustainable economic development by learning from each other’s experiences in digital transformation.

Professor Iqbal introduced “Uraan Pakistan,” a national initiative aspiring to transform Pakistan into a globally competitive, knowledge-based economy by 2047. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to adopting modern governance practices and global technological advancements.

The UAE expressed willingness to support Pakistan’s development goals by sharing its own digital transformation journey. The UAE’s advanced digital platforms, such as TAMM, which enhance citizen-government interaction, were highlighted as models for Pakistan to consider.

Furthermore, the minister invited UAE experts to collaborate with Pakistan’s Planning Commission on projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the broader objectives of Uraan Pakistan.
