Pakistan and UAE Aim to Boost Economic Ties, Explore B2B Ventures

Abu Dhabi: In a strategic meeting aimed at bolstering economic relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi met with H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, the newly appointed chairman of both the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on October 3, 2024.

According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Ambassador Tirmizi extended congratulations to H.E. Al Zaabi on his recent appointments and praised the UAE’s visionary leadership for its role in the economic development of the region. The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration between UAE and Pakistani Chambers of Commerce to foster business-to-business joint ventures and to increase trade between the two nations.

Ambassador Tirmizi provided an overview of Pakistan’s investment climate, highlighting sectors ripe for investment such as information technology, food and agriculture, textiles, leather, tourism, and infrastructure. He reiterated an invitation to UAE business delegations to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the potential benefits of such exchanges for both countries.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to deepen economic and commercial ties through various means, including trade facilitation, B2B engagements, and the exchange of delegations. Both parties agreed to participate in upcoming trade fairs and exhibitions such as GITEX and TEXPO, aiming to showcase and explore new business opportunities.
