Pakistan and Turkmenistan Commit to Expedite TAPI Gas Pipeline Project

Islamabad: In a significant development, Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to hasten the progress of the TAPI gas pipeline project, which aims to enhance energy security and economic integration between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this decision was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum, Musadik Malik, and the visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredow. The Turkmenistan official was in Pakistan for a two-day diplomatic visit focused on bilateral cooperation.

Minister Malik highlighted the substantial advancements already achieved in the TAPI project, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that have propelled the initiative forward. On the other side, Minister Meredow discussed plans to draft a roadmap to further enhance the cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, signifying a deeper commitment to the project’s success.

Furthermore, the CEO of the TAPI Pipeline Company acknowledged the significant progress made on the pipeline, attributing its success to the active involvement of Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and the Special Investment Facilitation Council. This collaboration underscores the strategic importance of the TAPI project in the region’s pursuit of energy security and economic growth.
