Islamabad: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in the railway sector, focusing on boosting regional connectivity and collaboration. This development was confirmed during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, and Turkiye’s Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Regional Transport Ministers Conference in Islamabad.
The discussions between the two ministers centered on advancing cooperation in various areas, including engineering, technology transfer, and the professional training of human resources. Both sides expressed a commitment to enhancing these aspects to benefit the railway sectors of both countries.
Additionally, the meeting explored the potential for establishing logistics corridors and improving sea-port connectivity. The ministers also reviewed plans for developing a modern regional transport network, which aims to facilitate better connectivity and economic integration in the region.
