Pakistan and Turkiye Pledge Continued Cooperation on Global Issues


Baku: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to sustain their collaboration on regional and global matters of shared interest, focusing on fostering peace and stability across the region and the broader Muslim world. This consensus was reached at a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held in Baku on the sidelines of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day Parade.



Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, also attended the meeting. The discussions covered the full range of bilateral relations between the two nations, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.



Prime Minister Sharif expressed his appreciation for the recent celebrations of Pak-Türkiye Friendship Week, highlighting the enduring and robust ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to transforming these longstanding fraternal bonds into a broader partnership, covering political, defense, economic, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.



In a move to further this commitment, it was decided that a ministerial delegation from Turkiye will visit Pakistan in the near future, signaling a continued effort to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
