Pakistan and Turkish Navies Enhance Ties Through Joint Drills in North Arabian Sea

Karachi: Following a goodwill visit by the Turkish Navy ship TCG KINALIADA, the Pakistan Navy and the Turkish Navy conducted joint naval exercises in the North Arabian Sea, aimed at boosting interoperability and refining maritime operational skills.

According to Pakistan Navy announcement issued on 02 August 2024, the exercises included a range of operations such as defense against asymmetric threats, Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations, and air defense exercises. These drills are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the professional capabilities of both navies and strengthen the bilateral military relationship between Pakistan and Turkey.

During the Turkish delegation’s visit, led by Vice Admiral Ibrahim Ozdem KOCER, Chief of Staff of the Turkish Navy, discussions on mutual interests and further collaboration were held with Pakistan Navy Field Commanders and dignitaries. The visit also included a tribute at the Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam, underscoring the deep respect and historical ties between the two nations.
