Pakistan and Tajikistan Discuss Enhanced Energy Collaboration

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari met with the Charge d’ Affairs of Tajikistan, H.E Mr. Shafiev Saidjon, today to explore avenues for enhanced energy cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on the early completion of the CASA-1000 transmission line and the possibility of reverse energy agreements during seasonal surpluses.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Leghari emphasized the importance of completing the CASA-1000 project promptly and proposed initiating discussions on reverse energy arrangements. This would allow Pakistan to export surplus electricity to member countries during the winter season, potentially boosting Pakistan’s role as a key energy player in the region.
