Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights, met with the Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Alexandra Berg von Linde, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding collaboration in various sectors.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, the meeting focused on advancing governance, human rights, and gender equality. Minister Tarar lauded Sweden for its efforts to combat Islamophobia and promote global tolerance. Ambassador von Linde highlighted the critical role of open dialogue in enhancing mutual understanding between nations and confirmed Sweden’s dedication to reinforcing its ties with GSP Plus beneficiary countries, including Pakistan.
The discussions were marked by a shared optimism for ongoing cooperation, especially in improving governance structures, bolstering press freedom, and promoting gender justice in Pakistan. Both parties expressed a commitment to these goals, reflecting a continued partnership aimed at fostering significant progress in these critical areas.
