Pakistan and Sweden Eye Stronger Bilateral Ties, Says NA Speaker


Islamabad: Pakistan and Sweden have significant potential to enhance bilateral cooperation and establish a more comprehensive relationship, according to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. During a meeting in Islamabad with Swedish Ambassador Ms. Alexandra Berg Von Linde, the Speaker highlighted opportunities to strengthen ties through robust economic cooperation and collaboration in various sectors.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sadiq emphasized the importance of expanding the relationship to include areas such as political relations, trade and investment, education, and people-to-people contacts. He specifically urged Swedish investors to explore opportunities in key sectors like energy generation, telecommunications, oil exploration, trade, and manufacturing, citing the significant potential for growth.



Sadiq also stressed the need for more frequent dialogue between Pakistani and Swedish parliamentarians to exchange views and share experiences. He expressed appreciation for the contributions made by Swedish companies to Pakistan’s economy, highlighting the positive impact of their operations.



Ambassador Von Linde echoed the sentiment, noting that increased parliamentary engagement would help strengthen the already positive relationship between the two countries.
