Pakistan and Sri Lanka Sign Anti-Corruption Cooperation Agreement


Colombo: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) of Sri Lanka today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering joint efforts against corruption and money laundering. The signing ceremony took place at the CIABOC office in Colombo, marking a significant step in collaborative endeavors between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the MoU was signed by Major General (Retd) Faheem Ul Aziz HI (M), High Commissioner of Pakistan, on behalf of NAB, and Mr. W.K.D. Wijeratne, Director General of CIABOC. The agreement focuses on strengthening capacity and institutional building across both organizations, enhancing their abilities to tackle corruption and financial crimes.



The MoU underscores a shared commitment to improving anti-corruption measures and includes provisions for mutual cooperation in criminal matters, reflecting a strategic partnership in governance and law enforcement between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
