Karachi, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has emphasized the strengthening brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the realm of energy investment.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting , the Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with a four-member delegation from the Al-Jomaih Group of Saudi Arabia, led by Sheikh Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Jumaih, in Islamabad today. He remarked on the value Pakistan places on Saudi investment in the country’s energy sector.
The Al-Jomaih Group delegation briefed the Prime Minister on their new renewable energy projects, aimed at producing fifteen hundred megawatts of electricity. These projects will leverage local and renewable energy resources to enhance electricity production in Pakistan. The group has already made substantial investments in K-Electric, a major electricity supply company in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Kakar expressed confidence that K-Electric would continue to upgrade its infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted power supply to both domestic and industrial consumers. He also highlighted the potential impact of K-Electric’s investment strategy in the alternative energy sector, noting that it could help reduce power tariffs for consumers.
The strengthening of ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly through these energy investments, marks an important development in the bilateral relationship of the two countries, fostering economic growth and sustainability.
