RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to significantly transform their economic, trade, and investment ties, as stated in a meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ‘One Water Summit’ in Riyadh, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing bilateral relations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of Saudi investment agreements and memoranda of understanding in Pakistan. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the Crown Prince’s support and extended an invitation for him to visit Pakistan. The Crown Prince, in turn, emphasized the importance of cooperation for economic growth in Pakistan and expressed his anticipation for the visit.
The Crown Prince highlighted the significance of their frequent interactions, noting that this meeting marked their fifth encounter in six months. He referenced the deep-rooted connections between the two nations. In a social media post, Prime Minister Sharif echoed these sentiments, noting that high-level exchanges are fostering mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed strong bilateral ties and discussed strategies to bolster trade and investment with the Crown Prince. He acknowledged the Crown Prince’s personal commitment to strengthening Saudi-Pakistan relations for the benefit of both nations.
