Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in an interview with Al Arabiya English, stated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are deepening their partnership with an aim to enhance progress and prosperity for both nations. The recent joint activities, including a significant investment conference, underline the commitment from both countries to expand their cooperation beyond diplomacy into economic realms such as trade, culture, and people-to-people contacts.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the unmatched strength of the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting their shared sentiments and mutual support in times of both joy and sorrow. He highlighted recent strategic engagements that demonstrate the sincerity of the Saudi leadership in strengthening relations with Pakistan, particularly in investments and trade.
The focus of the current collaboration includes key sectors like renewable energy, mines and minerals, and agriculture. A Pakistani delegation is currently in Riyadh to finalize investments, particularly in solar energy, which the Prime Minister identifies as a critical area for future announcements. The agricultural sector also stands to gain, with potential increases in the production of fruits, vegetables, wheat, sugarcane, and cotton through joint efforts.
Further, Pakistan looks to benefit from Saudi Arabia’s advancements in Information Technology, aiming to integrate further with the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving IT landscape. The Prime Minister praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman for his transformative leadership and the Vision 2030 plan, which he cited as a model for development that extends beyond the Middle East.
