Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Defense Ties

RIYADH: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have pledged to enhance their longstanding defense collaboration, reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations. This commitment was reiterated during a meeting between General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, and General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces.

The discussions, held in Saudi Arabia, focused on the evolving global and regional landscape and explored new opportunities for bilateral defense cooperation. Both parties expressed a mutual interest in furthering their military partnership in light of these changes.

The Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in combating terrorism. This acknowledgment of Pakistan’s efforts underscores the strong military ties between the two countries.

In a notable gesture, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was awarded the ‘King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class’. This honor recognizes his significant contributions to strengthening the military relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
