Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Economic Ties


Riyadh: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering economic ties, as articulated during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference in Riyadh.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the two leaders agreed to expand economic cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, and the broader economy. During the discussions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and expressed gratitude for the support provided by Saudi Arabia, particularly in dealings with international financial institutions. He also thanked the Crown Prince for the hospitality shown to him and his delegation.



The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the Future Investment Initiative conference and praised the Crown Prince’s leadership. He noted that Saudi Vision 2030 aligns with Pakistan’s policy goals. The meeting also referenced a recent visit by a Saudi delegation led by the Saudi Minister of Investment, which resulted in the signing of memorandums of understanding to pave the way for stronger economic partnerships.



Both leaders voiced concerns over Israeli aggression in the region, which has led to significant destruction. This meeting further reflects the enduring religious and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and highlights the deepening relationship between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
