Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have committed to bolstering economic ties and reinforcing regional connectivity, with a focus on fostering solidarity among Muslim nations. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, held in Islamabad.
The discussions underscored the significance of enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders highlighted the potential benefits of increased regional connectivity and emphasized the importance of unity among Muslim countries in addressing shared challenges.
Ayaz Sadiq noted the Pakistan-Saudi Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement as a pivotal development, describing it as a milestone achievement for Pakistan. This agreement is expected to pave the way for stronger defense collaboration between the two countries.
In a gesture of appreciation, the Speaker announced that Dr. Al-Sheikh will be awarded Pakistan’s highest civil honor. This award recognizes his contributions to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
