Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, addressing critical issues in the Middle East and expressing Pakistan’s readiness for dialogue with India.
During the call, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to engage in meaningful discussions with India on topics such as Jammu and Kashmir, water, trade, and terrorism. The dialogue highlighted Pakistan’s intention to resolve these long-standing issues diplomatically.
The leaders exchanged views on the rapidly changing dynamics in the Middle East. Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s support for immediate de-escalation in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, advocating for peaceful resolution through dialogue and adherence to international law and the UN Charter.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support during Pakistan’s recent standoff with India. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Sharif also extended warm regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and congratulated the Crown Prince on the successful completion of Hajj, appreciating the hospitality extended to Pakistani pilgrims.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region and appreciated the country’s support for Saudi Arabia. He reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering lasting peace in the Middle East, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s leadership in peacemaking efforts.
