Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Commit to Enhancing Export of Skilled Manpower

Riyadh, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Mr. Jawad Sohrab Malik held a productive meeting in Riyadh with key Saudi Arabian officials to discuss the enhancement of skilled manpower export from Pakistan to the Kingdom.

According to the Press Information Department, Malik met with the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, HE Dr. Abdullah Nasser Abu Thnain, and Deputy Minister, HE Adnan Abdullah Al-Nuaim. The meeting underscored the strong and brotherly ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Malik expressed gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for providing employment opportunities to approximately 3 million Pakistani workers and discussed ways to further boost the export of skilled Pakistani manpower to Saudi Arabia.

Malik informed the Saudi ministers that the Pakistani government has prioritized skill development among its workers. He proposed sending an increased number of skilled workers to Saudi Arabia and invited Takamol, a Saudi initiative for human capital development, to establish more testing and training centers in Pakistan. Malik also offered cooperation for Takamol to operate as an independent training and certification company in Pakistan. Additionally, there were discussions on potential collaboration between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and Pakistani training initiatives. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between NAVTEC and TVTC is expected to be signed soon.

The Saudi Minister appreciated Malik’s proposals and directed Takamol to explore ways to implement these suggestions. Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing the export of skilled labor from Pakistan.

Accompanying Malik were several notable Pakistani officials, including Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. Ahmad Farooq, Director General BEOE Mr. Akram Khawaja, and other diplomatic staff. The SAPM’s visit to Saudi Arabia has been deemed highly productive in furthering Pakistan’s national objective of increasing manpower exports to the Kingdom.
