Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are working collaboratively to enhance their economic and investment cooperation. The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Dawood in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharif expressed satisfaction over the implementation of Memorandums of Understanding concerning a Saudi investment of $2.8 billion in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and expressed gratitude towards the Saudi leadership for their consistent support of Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of defense and security cooperation, noting that the visit of the Deputy Interior Minister and his delegation would strengthen bilateral ties in these critical areas.
During the discussions, the situation in Gaza and the broader Middle East was also addressed. Sharif commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership during the recent Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh and praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s stance on the Palestine issue. The Prime Minister recognized Saudi Arabia’s efforts to unite the Islamic community in seeking an end to the violence in Gaza.
In concluding remarks, Sharif reiterated his invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, noting that the people of Pakistan are eager to extend a warm welcome to the Crown Prince.
