ISLAMABAD, In a significant step forward, Pakistan and Rwanda have reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the parliamentary domain.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the mutual understanding was reached during a meeting between a Rwandan parliamentary delegation headed by the President of the Rwandan Senate, Dr. Kalinda Francois Xavier, and Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani. The conversation centered on the potential for expanding bilateral trade, aligning with Pakistan’s ‘Look Africa’ policy that seeks to forge new trade and cooperation avenues with African nations.
Chairman Senate Sanjrani spoke of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to nurturing its relationship with Rwanda, identifying areas of potential collaboration like agriculture, food security, and human resource development. Additionally, Sanjrani highlighted Pakistan’s proactive step in strengthening diplomatic ties by inaugurating its embassy in Rwanda. He expressed hope that Rwanda would reciprocate by opening its embassy in Pakistan, fostering stronger connections between the business, investment, and general populations of both nations. Grateful for the hospitality extended by Pakistan, the Rwandan delegation conveyed its eagerness to bolster trade, investment, and collaborative ventures with Pakistan. Following the formal discussions, the Rwandan delegation was given a tour of the Senate Museum.
