Pakistan and Rwanda Agree to Boost Cooperation in Gender Equality


Islamabad: Pakistan and Rwanda have reached an agreement to enhance cooperation in the areas of gender equality and women empowerment, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two nations. The accord was achieved during a meeting in Islamabad between the High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, Ms. Fatou Harerimana, and Pakistan’s Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar.



According to Radio Pakistan, both parties expressed their support for a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding in Kigali, which outlines joint initiatives, exchange programs, and capacity-building efforts aimed at promoting gender equality. The High Commissioner commended the Pakistani government’s initiatives to advance gender equality, as well as its efforts in protecting women and children and enhancing human rights and social protection.
