Tashkent: Pakistan and Russia have agreed to enhance linkages between their parliaments, with a focus on reviving Parliamentary Friendship Groups to address shared challenges. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Matviyenko at the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Tashkent.
Chairman Senate Gilani noted that Pakistan and Russia share common goals in promoting global peace, security, and fostering a multipolar world. The meeting highlighted the evolving relationship between the two nations, which is based on mutual respect and cooperation across various sectors.
