Pakistan and Romania Seek to Revitalize Historical Ties


Islamabad: A pivotal meeting took place at the Parliament House in Islamabad between the Pakistan-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group and Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dan Stoenescu. The gathering aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation in sectors such as economy, culture, education, and more.



According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, the meeting was attended by members of the National Assembly, including Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Aqeel Malik, and Sadiq Ali Memon, and chaired by Danyal Chaudhary, Convener of the Pakistan-Romania PFG.



Representatives from Romania, including Ambassador Dan Stoenescu, Cristian-Stelin Corom?, and Eduard-Robert Preda, were present. Discussions highlighted historical economic partnerships and explored new opportunities for collaboration.



Danyal Chaudhary underscored the strong economic ties between the two countries during the 1960s to 1980s, marked by Romania’s contributions to Pakistan’s industrial sectors. He emphasized the importance of the meeting in reaffirming shared commitments and tapping into untapped potential.
