Pakistan and Qatar Discuss Enhancing Education Cooperation and Women’s Empowerment


Doha, In a move to strengthen educational ties and promote women’s empowerment, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (SAPM), Jawad Sohrab Malik, met with Qatar’s Education and Higher Education Minister, Her Highness Buthania Bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting in Doha focused on various areas of mutual cooperation and collaboration, particularly emphasizing the importance of educated women in economic and societal development. Both parties acknowledged the need for empowering women through education and employment opportunities. The discussion highlighted Qatar’s commitment to education as part of their Vision 2030, which aims to enhance education quality and promote lifelong learning. Similarly, Pakistan is looking to export highly skilled and professional manpower in alignment with Qatar’s Vision 2030, focusing on human resource development and capacity building.



SAPM Malik proposed introducing an Arabic language training program to aid workers in integrating into Qatari culture, a suggestion warmly received by Her Highness. She stressed the significance of education in Qatar’s national development strategy and assured her continued support for quality educational services. The meeting also saw commendation for the Pakistan International School (PIS) in Qatar, with plans to open a separate Cambridge branch to serve the growing Pakistani community. This initiative aligns with Qatar’s Vision 2030 and is expected to greatly benefit the Pakistani diaspora.



The meeting, attended by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar and Community Welfare Attachés, concluded with a commitment to further explore collaborative opportunities in education and human resource development, underscoring a shared goal of mutual growth and prosperity.
