Islamabad: Pakistan and Qatar have renewed their commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties, following a telephonic conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
During the discussion, both leaders expressed a shared interest in strengthening the historically close relations between the two nations. A significant outcome of the conversation was the agreement that a Qatari delegation will visit Pakistan after Eid to continue discussions on investment opportunities.
Prime Minister Sharif, recalling his visit to Doha in October, extended his appreciation to the Amir for hosting the Manzar cultural exhibition, which he had attended. He further proposed hosting a similar exhibition in Lahore, an idea that the Amir accepted.
The leaders also touched upon regional circumstances, with Prime Minister Sharif acknowledging Qatar’s diplomatic contributions towards peace, particularly in the context of Gaza.
Concluding their conversation, the Prime Minister extended warm Eid ul Fitr greetings to the Amir and the people of Qatar, with the Amir reciprocating the gesture for the people of Pakistan.
