Pakistan and Portugal Commit to Strengthening Disaster Preparedness Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Portugal have pledged to enhance their collaboration in disaster risk reduction and humanitarian response, following a meeting between a high-level Portuguese delegation and Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The discussions focused on reviewing Pakistan’s disaster preparedness strategies and identifying areas for bilateral cooperation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Portuguese delegation was led by Helena Malcata, Director General of Foreign Policy. During the meeting, both nations reiterated their commitment to improving emergency preparedness and capacity building. The visit highlights the mutual interest in strengthening ties to effectively address disaster-related challenges.
