Pakistan and Norway Mark 75 Years of Strengthening Diplomatic Ties

Islamabad, Pakistan and Norway are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations, marked by mutual respect, shared values, and a growing partnership across various domains.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch highlighted in a press release on the eve of the 75th anniversary, the strength and depth of the Pakistan-Norway relationship. The partnership encompasses political, economic, academic, environmental, social, and cultural cooperation. Baloch emphasized the mutual aspiration of both countries to promote regional and global peace, security, and sustainable development.

The relationship is characterized by high-level exchanges and frequent leadership meetings, alongside active collaboration in various multilateral forums. Baloch noted the robust and expanding bilateral economic ties, with significant trade in multiple product lines and substantial investments by leading Norwegian companies in Pakistan.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson also acknowledged Norway’s steady and generous development assistance in areas like Sustainable Development Goals, climate action, and renewable energy, as well as its support during natural disasters.

Baloch expressed confidence that the friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Norway will continue to grow and flourish in the years ahead.
