Pakistan and Niger Pledge to Deepen Economic and Diplomatic Ties


Islamabad, Pakistan and Niger have pledged to enhance their cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere, following discussions between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and his Nigerien counterpart, Bakary Yaou Sangare. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit in Banjul.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Both sides expressed a commitment to work closely within the OIC to advance their shared interests and address common challenges.



Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed gratitude for Niger’s support on regional and international platforms, notably appreciating Niger’s stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. In return, Foreign Minister Sangare affirmed Niger’s continued solidarity with Pakistan, underscoring the consistent support for Pakistan’s position on Kashmir at international forums.



The reaffirmation of this partnership highlights the ongoing diplomatic efforts by both nations to leverage their positions within the OIC for mutual benefit and to foster deeper economic and political ties.
