Pakistan and Netherlands Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Combat Human Smuggling


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met with the Dutch Ambassador Henny de Vries to discuss bilateral issues and cooperation on a range of topics including efforts to combat human smuggling and the promotion of cricket between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting underscored both countries’ commitment to deepening ties across various sectors. Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of collaboration to tackle the challenge of human smuggling, noting that an Italian team will soon visit Pakistan to advance joint efforts in this area. Discussions also covered mutual support for Afghan refugees and steps to enhance cricket relations, with Naqvi outlining plans to foster cricketing ties, supported by Ambassador de Vries’ acknowledgment of the benefits such cooperation could offer to the Netherlands’ cricket team. The meeting was attended by key officials including Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Ali Agha and Additional Secretary Interior Riffat Mukhtar Rajah.
