Pakistan and Netherlands Boost Naval Ties as CNS Admiral Naveed Ashraf Visits

Islamabad: During an official visit to the Netherlands, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf met with top military and naval leaders to discuss professional matters of mutual interest, including bilateral defense collaboration.

According to Pakistan Navy, Admiral Ashraf held discussions at the Dutch Ministry of Defence with key figures, including the Deputy Chief of Defence, Vice Admiral Boudewijin Boots. The talks focused on enhancing military cooperation through joint exercises and training exchange programs, emphasizing the importance of robust military relations.

The Admiral also visited the Royal Netherlands Navy Headquarters where he met with Vice Admiral René Tas. They explored avenues for deepening defense ties and collaboration on regional maritime security. Admiral Ashraf highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in promoting regional peace through initiatives like the Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP) and its participation in the Combined Maritime Force.

Further strengthening the defense relationship, CNS Ashraf toured the DAMEN Shipyard and the Zeven De Provincién Class Frigate, where he received detailed briefings on naval maintenance and construction activities. These engagements are expected to significantly enhance the naval and defense cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
