Islamabad, In a significant development, Pakistan and Malaysia have pledged to deepen their bilateral trade and investment relations. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Malaysian counterpart Dato Seri Haji Mohamad Bin Hasan on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the two ministers emphasized the importance of regular high-level contacts to boost the economic partnership between their countries. They agreed to host the next round of the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting in Islamabad later this year, aiming to review and accelerate collaboration across various sectors.
The meeting also focused on exploring market opportunities in both nations to maximize economic benefits. Additionally, the ministers discussed the ongoing crisis in Gaza, advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the provision of urgent humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
The discussions also highlighted the need for closer cooperation within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to seek a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue. Minister Dar extended an invitation to Minister Hasan to visit Pakistan, which was accepted with appreciation, further solidifying the growing ties between the two countries.
