LUXEMBOURG: Pakistan and Luxembourg have pledged to strengthen their bilateral cooperation following a formal ceremony in which Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, presented his credentials to Crown Prince Guillaume.
The event, held at the royal palace of Luxembourg, marked a significant step in fostering diplomatic relations between the two countries. Ambassador Qureshi conveyed the greetings of Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to the Crown Prince, signaling a mutual desire to enhance ties.
Discussions between the Ambassador and Prince Guillaume touched on areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation and the promotion of bilateral relations. The Prince expressed satisfaction with the progress in relations and extended a warm welcome to the Pakistani envoy.
Both parties agreed to work towards further strengthening these ties, highlighting a shared commitment to cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Qureshi briefed Prince Guillaume on recent developments in South Asia, particularly concerning Indian actions and the unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. In response, Prince Guillaume expressed hope for the continuation of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The discussions underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement and collaboration in addressing regional and global challenges.
