Islamabad, In a significant step toward bolstering bilateral relations, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have concurred on enhancing the enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and deepening cooperative ties. The agreement was reached during discussions between Chairperson IPO-Pakistan Farukh Amil and Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador Ulanbek Totuiaev in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting focused on IPO-Pakistan’s dedicated efforts to ensure stringent IPR enforcement within the country. Ambassador Totuiaev underscored the mutual advantages of establishing Intellectual Property offices in strategic locations like Gilgit-Baltistan and Sialkot, aiming to support regional trade and innovation.
Highlighting the significance of collaboration with Central Asian nations, Chairperson Amil agreed on the pivotal role such countries play in enhancing Pakistan’s trade and tourism sectors. Furthermore, Ambassador Totuiaev proposed a Memorandum of Understanding between IPO-Pakistan and the Patent Office of Kyrgyzstan to formalize the commitment to strengthening IPR enforcement and cooperation between the two nations.
