Islamabad, Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, met today with His Excellency Wada Mitsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s ambitious privatization plans and ways to deepen economic relations between the two nations.
According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister outlined Pakistan’s strategy to privatize all state-owned enterprises except for those deemed strategic and essential. He highlighted the potential investment opportunities this would create for foreign investors, particularly from Japan. Ambassador Mitsuhiro shared insights from Japan’s successful privatization experiences, complementing the current Pakistani government’s policy initiatives aimed at supporting the economy and investment.
The Federal Minister also discussed efforts to improve the business environment in Pakistan, inviting Japanese investors to take advantage of the favorable conditions expected to yield substantial returns. He expressed gratitude for Japan’s ongoing support and commitment to Pakistan’s development.
