Qingdao: Pakistan and Iran have affirmed the importance of strengthening their collaboration in energy, particularly in power plant operations and maintenance, following a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Power, Sardar Awais Leghari, and Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Ali Abadi. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Ministerial Conference in Qingdao, China, focused on expanding cross-border energy initiatives to enhance connectivity and trade.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both ministers discussed future energy projects, with particular attention to electricity infrastructure development in Gwadar, Balochistan. They emphasized the critical need for regular coordination and communication to sustain energy output and address growing demands across the region. Additionally, both sides expressed a commitment to advancing regional energy connectivity through effective plant management and joint operations.
