Islamabad, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani of Pakistan engaged in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, focusing on matters of bilateral significance and the regional situation.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed various critical issues. Foreign Minister Jilani expressed Pakistan’s grave concern regarding the situation in Occupied Palestine, particularly in Gaza. He stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, the lifting of the siege, the provision of uninterrupted humanitarian aid including medical supplies to the people of Gaza, and the resumption of diplomatic efforts for a lasting peace in the Middle East based on a just solution to the Palestinian question.
Foreign Minister Jilani also strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Southeastern Iran on December 15, which resulted in the loss of several Iranian security personnel. He emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to collaborating with Iran to confront the threat of terrorism, a challenge that affects regional peace and security.
The conversation concluded with both ministers reaffirming their commitment to further strengthen the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran. These ties, deeply rooted in history and culture, will be enhanced through increased high-level exchanges.
