Pakistan and Germany Commit to Enhancing Trade and Investment Ties


Islamabad: Pakistan and Germany have agreed to deepen their bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, reflecting a shared commitment to advance economic relations between the two nations.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze. The discussion emphasized enhancing sustainable business practices and labor standards to foster a more robust economic collaboration. The ministers also explored opportunities for greater engagement between their respective business communities.



During the discussions, Minister Jam Kamal underscored Pakistan’s initiatives to elevate labor standards within its textile sector and requested German assistance for capacity-building and technical support to help Pakistani SMEs adhere to new regulations. Minister Schulze commended the strong business relations existing between Germany and Pakistan, highlighting the potential for further growth.
