Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Germany during a meeting with a German parliamentary delegation led by Michael Muller at the Parliament House.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the delegation discussed enhancing diplomatic relations, which are built on mutual trust and a commitment to global peace and development. The talks highlighted the need for more high-level political interactions and the establishment of friendship groups to bolster people-to-people contacts.
The meeting also touched upon various collaborative efforts, such as tackling climate change, enhancing trade, and addressing visa issuance delays. Both nations acknowledged the potential for learning from each other in areas including education, sports, and energy.
Chairman Gilani expressed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, particularly in South Asia and the Middle East, and advocated for peaceful resolutions to the conflicts in Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine. He also underscored the importance of defense cooperation and humanitarian efforts, specifically in assisting Afghan refugees.
The German delegation recognized Pakistan’s role as a regional stability anchor, proposing expanded collaboration across multiple sectors. The dialogue reaffirmed the seventy-year relationship between the two countries, with mutual invitations for further visits to enhance diplomatic engagement.
