Islamabad, In a significant step towards environmental collaboration, Pakistan and Ethiopia have agreed to implement the Green Legacy Initiative, an eco-friendly project initiated by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, across major Pakistani cities.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the agreement was reached during a meeting between Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change in Pakistan, and Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula. The initiative aims to bolster efforts in combating climate change through mutual cooperation.

Khurshid Alam expressed Pakistan’s enthusiasm for collaborating with Ethiopia to address environmental challenges, highlighting the importance of international partnerships in tackling climate change. Ambassador Abdula emphasized the potential for bilateral cooperation in areas such as skill development, technological exchange, and knowledge sharing to enhance climate resilience.

Ethiopia’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in climate mitigation, including technology transfer and sharing experiences in dealing with floods and food insecurity, was affirmed by Ambassador Abdula, underscoring a unified approach to environmental and climate-related challenges.
