Pakistan and Estonia Strengthen Ties with Focus on Climate Change and Economic Cooperation

Islamabad, Pakistan and Estonia have reinforced their commitment to collaborate on addressing common challenges such as climate change and food security. This consensus was reached during a meeting between Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar of Pakistan and Prime Minister Kaja Kallas of Estonia on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, both leaders emphasized the need for regular high-level engagement to fully realize the potential of their bilateral ties. Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the importance of strengthening economic ties and exploring cooperation in trade, investment, higher education, and information technology. Prime Minister Kallas welcomed the signing of the Convention on the Elimination of Double Taxation between the two countries and acknowledged the role of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence in combating food insecurity and enhancing agricultural productivity.

The leaders agreed to explore areas of potential cooperation, including collaboration at the level of educational institutions. Prime Minister Kakar stressed the significance of concrete climate action, while Prime Minister Kallas acknowledged climate change as a global concern requiring collective efforts. The meeting, held at the Pakistan Pavilion, provided a platform to discuss bilateral relations, regional and global issues, and the threats posed by climate change. This engagement signifies the strengthening of Pakistan-Estonia relations and their shared commitment to addressing global challenges.
