Pakistan and Egypt Commit to Enhanced Defense Cooperation at Bilateral Meeting


Islamabad: The 14th Pak-Egypt Military Cooperation Committee (MCC) meeting concluded successfully in the Ministry of Defence, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, after discussions that spanned from September 1 to September 6, 2024. The meeting saw top military officials from both nations deliberating on a broad range of defense-related topics and pledging to bolster their military cooperation further.



According to Press Information Department, the Pakistan delegation was headed by Maj Gen Amer Ashfaq Kayani, Acting Secretary Defence, while the Egyptian team was led by Maj Gen Abdel Rehman Abdel Rehman Mahmoud Wahdan, Assistant Head of the Armed Forces Operations Authority for Civil and Military Coordination. The discussions covered the entire spectrum of bilateral defense cooperation, focusing on security, counterterrorism, and the current regional environment.



Both sides expressed satisfaction with their ongoing collaborations in various sectors and discussed enhancing them further. Key topics included training, exchange visits, and co-production of defense equipment. The atmosphere of the talks was reported as cordial and congenial, reflecting the strong and cooperative relationship between the two countries.



The delegation leaders resolved to continue their collaborative efforts in defense and security-related fields. It was also agreed that the 15th round of the Pakistan-Egypt MCC meeting will take place in Egypt, underscoring the commitment of both nations to continue their strategic partnership.
